Today, six of us started 1st January 2012, by finding the highest spot in Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh and claiming the county for the Lord.

We hammered the little wooden stake, which I had taken that momentous night in Lisburn Cathedral, in the ground and spoke scripture over and prayed for Fermanagh. We confessed our failings and neglect of our calling as followers of Christ and then petitioned God for release for people affected by the legacy of violence, particularly the Poppy Day bomb, the breaking of any curses, a future filled with hope for those affected by the “Troubles” and are unable to take that first step towards forgiveness and healing. We asked for families to be places of love and safety, churches to be energised and filled with the Holy Spirit to carry out their commission of bringing the good news of Jesus Christ. We also asked for opportunities for Alpha in Fermanagh.
