In Ireland we have witnessed what has become indicative of the global 24-7prayer movement’s journey….prayer that feeds us inwardly inevitably propels us outwardly in mission.  We have watched in amazement as what begins as a whispered prayer in a prayer room actually moves out of these rooms in powerful compassionate acts of kindness and mission.

Local expressions of prayer/mission
In the provincial towns of Lurgan, Portadown, Ballymena, we have witnessed how many hundreds of young people move their prayers into practical forms of servant-evangelism in their local towns and cities.

Rediscovery of the missionary journey
Ireland has such a rich spiritual heritage and inspired by the strong values of pilgrimage and prayer the early Celts possessed, 24-7prayerIreland has organised a number of different prayer road-trips over the past three years.  This basically involves getting in a car and traveling to different parts of Ireland connecting and praying with different individuals/communities/churches we know who are passionate about seeing God’s kingdom come in our nation. These road-trips give us an opportunity to rediscover the lost value of pilgrimage and journey as well connect more deeply with God’s heart for our nation.

Taking the gospel to the nations….prayer and acts of kindness
As well as these local expressions of mission 24-7prayerIreland have also sent over 60 people to 24-7prayer Ibiza in the last 6 years. These teams have have served with our close friends Brian and Tracy Heasley in the West End, Ibiza; infamously known as Europe’s party and club capital. These teams join in with the 24-7prayer Ibiza team who follow a daily rhythm of prayer for the island and serve on the streets of the West-End through compassionate acts of kindness and offering prayer. 24-7prayerIreland continue to send teams in the summer months to Ibiza and if you are interested in going on one of our teams please email us.

A more recent mission opportunity is Pattya, Thailand. Our friend Ian Hannah from Coleraine has been leading teams to Pattya for the past 6 years and is keen for 24-7prayer to partner with him in this.  This is a great opportunity to see and be part of how prayer/worship/mission are changing a city.  Again if you would be interested in going for a 2-week team in November 2011 please get in touch
